In 2022, a devastating forest fire in Brazil’s Sinop region separated a young jaguar named Xamã from his mother. Found alone, dehydrated, and malnourished, he was rescued and cared for by a dedicated team who helped him regain his strength while carefully maintaining his natural instincts.

After two years of rehabilitation, he was released back into the wild on October 21, 2024—the first male jaguar in Brazil ever to be successfully reintroduced to his natural habitat.
